This is a truly underrated guitar. Visually, with its three humbuckers and Cherry Sunburst finish, it definitely has a touch of Ace Frehley about it while still looking very elegant. At the same time, it is surprisingly lightweight at approx. 3.31 kg, thanks in part to the thinner body and lightweight Okoumé wood. The build quality feels solid and the guitar is very nicely balanced.
The three Aria Classic Power II humbuckers with Alnico 5 magnets deliver plenty of punch and offer a wide range of tonal options thanks to the special wiring. The neck and bridge pickups are selected in the usual way via the 3-way switch. The middle humbucker can be blended in separately and has its own volume and tone controls. This gives you considerably more combinations than a conventional two-humbucker setup.
The factory fretwork, however, was really not good – it was all over the place (-; So we carefully leveled, recrowned, and polished the frets and then gave the guitar a complete setup.
It now plays beautifully. The very slim and relatively narrow C-shape neck feels excellent in the hand and makes the guitar very comfortable and fast to play.
The guitar has barely been played and is in almost mint condition.
A guitar that stands well apart from the usual mainstream choices – lightweight, elegant, versatile, and simply something special.
