Description **

This breathtaking guitar is based on Gibson’s legendary space-age design from 1958 – the Explorer. Back then it was far ahead of its time; today it’s an absolute classic. This one is an Epiphone 1958 Korina Explorer, built in Korea in 2008 – and in the rare Ebony version. Most Korinas come in a natural finish; you don’t often see the black one. A true understatement model – classy, subtle, and at the same time uncompromising rock ’n’ roll.

It has been played, but it’s in very good condition – definitely not beat up. No chips, no major dings or dents, just well cared for and gracefully aged. Inside, it’s fitted with an Epiphone ’57 Classic in the neck position and an Epiphone HOT humbucker at the bridge – a strong combination that delivers punchy, fat tones. It has that honest, raw voice that sits perfectly between classic rock, hard rock, and blues.

We freshly leveled and polished the frets and dialed everything in perfectly – now it plays like a dream. The neck feels wonderful in the hand, the weight is solid but well balanced. A guitar that inspires you the moment you pick it up.

A black Explorer always has something special about it – it feels like a future classic, and that’s exactly what it is.
