Here we have a very special example – a Casino Coupe you don’t see every day. The difference to the classic Casino is clearly the size: the Coupe has a smaller body, similar to a 339 – super handy, super light. Is it still a Casino? Yes, kind of… but it goes quite a bit further.
This one was professionally modified – fitted with two original Gibson Vintage ’57 Classic humbuckers. And that turns it into a real rock machine! If you’re looking for a Casino but you’re not only into clean and jazzy stuff, and you also like to go a bit harder – blues rock, hard rock, or just loud and dirty – this is exactly the right one. It’s basically the 339 or 335 among the Casino models, just without a sustain block.
Acoustically – without an amp – it sounds like a Casino: loud, woody, not necessarily “pretty,” but perfect for couch jamming. Through an amp, though, it shows what it’s all about: the ’57 humbuckers deliver a punchy, open signal with exactly the right push – even into a Marshall stack! The guitar stays wonderfully resonant and alive.
In the classic Natural finish it simply looks classy – a traditional Casino look that keeps it elegant and understated. The finish is nicely thin, you can see the wood grain. A real eye-catcher without being loud about it.
