Description **
Epiphone DOT Ebony 2010 is a classic semi-hollow with a strong upgrade and plenty of character. With the Gibson pickups, it sounds balanced and warm – a real workhorse with a small visual story.
This Epiphone DOT is in very good condition, with only light signs of use and overall very well cared for at home.
The neck feels wonderful in the hand and plays very comfortably, even with the fitted flatwound strings.
The big upgrade is the installed Gibson pickups — 57 Classic Plus — which give the guitar a beautiful, balanced PAF sound. Warm, clear and musical – a clear step forward. The pickups alone can easily be worth around €250.
There is one flaw: a finish crack in the middle of the upper side/rim. If you don’t know it is there, it is hardly noticeable. The wood is not affected — it rather looks as if the wood moved very slightly and the finish reacted in that area. We inspected it carefully: structurally, everything is fine.
It has no influence whatsoever on playability.
We gave the guitar a complete setup, including string action and intonation – it plays cleanly and is simply great fun.
