This used Epiphone Les Paul is a real player’s Paula with character and a story – and yes, it’s seen some things!
I leveled the frets myself. I always work as material-friendly as possible – on two frets you can still see very light grooves, but you won’t feel them when playing. Playability? Top!
There’s a clearly visible damage on the top – see photos. It really looks like heat or fire damage. The pickup rings are slightly melted as well. Someone probably tried to smooth it out with filler – maybe prepping it for a refinish… but then left it as it is. Good call! In a Custom Shop they’d probably charge you a big upcharge for such an honest wound ;-)
A real highlight is the long tenon neck – yes, you don’t only find that on the Czech models, but also on selected Korean ones like this. And yes, this guitar sings accordingly. Sustain, warmth, expression – it’s all there!
The electronics have been upgraded:
• Gibson and Japanese pots
• old capacitors
• original pickups – and they sound beautifully authentic
Bottom line: An honest, road-worn Epiphone with soul, history, and real mojo. Not a showroom princess, but a proper tool for people who play – and feel.
