This Epiphone Les Paul Special Double Cut dates from 1995 and was built in Korea – not a mass-market model, but a sought-after 90s year that is highly appreciated by those who know.
The neck has a rather slim D profile, sits excellently in the hand and is very comfortably shaped. Not a baseball bat, but balanced and easy to control – perfect for rock riffs, blues licks or raw punk.
With its comfortable weight of approx. 3.55 kg, it is well balanced and delivers exactly that authentic P90 tone: open, direct, with nice midrange presence and just the right amount of bite.
We freshly levelled and polished the frets and gave the guitar a complete setup. It now plays cleanly and very comfortably – exactly the way you would expect from a good Double Cut.
Visually, it is clearly player grade. Honest signs of use, dings and dongs – naturally aged, you could say. Not a display-case guitar, but an instrument with history and character.
