Epiphone Les Paul Special II 2014 is a simple entry-level model with a surprising amount of character. Light, direct and with P90 sound – a guitar that is simply fun to play.
This Epiphone Les Paul Special II is actually one of Epiphone’s most affordable Les Paul models – a classic beginner model with a bolt-on neck.
However, this one has a “Custom Shop” stamp and feels like a limited version – probably because of the color and the P90 pickup configuration.
What makes it special becomes obvious the moment you pick it up, plug it in and play: it is simply cool.
The neck has a slim C profile, sits comfortably in the hand right away and makes the guitar very pleasant to play. Sound-wise, it surprises with a nice, typical P90 tone – direct, open and lively.
It is very light, almost like an SG, but still well balanced. Rock’n’Roll without detours.
We freshly levelled and polished the frets and gave the guitar a complete setup. The result: smooth playability, clean intonation and an instrument that inspires right away.
One small detail: the veneer is lifting very slightly on the top – you can feel it, but the finish is not cracked.
With a weight of just over 3.3 kg, it is pleasantly light and resonates nicely – ideal for blues, rock and punk.
Overall, the condition is very good with normal signs of use, but no major damage.
