Description **
Here we have a heavily played Epiphone SG G-400 in Ebony from early Korean production – a model that many players are deliberately looking for today. This series was really very good in terms of workmanship and material quality.
The Medium C neck, which slightly leans towards a D shape, sits comfortably in the hand and feels familiar right away. It is equipped with an Alnico Classic humbucker in the neck position and an Alnico Hot humbucker at the bridge – a well-balanced duo with classic SG character: open, biting, with punch and warmth.
The control knobs have cracks, and one of them is missing its insert. The truss rod cover is also no longer there – anyone who plays a lot and takes guitars on the road knows how that goes.
It has clear signs of use, dings and dongs that tell stories from a real musician’s life – typical wear, but no major damage. The hardware is in very good condition.
We freshly levelled and polished the frets and gave it a complete setup. The result: very good string action and smooth, easy playability.
In its Ebony finish with pearl pickguard, it is simply a classic. An honest, perfectly playable SG for rock, blues and stage – with the push you expect from a good Korean G-400.
