Description **
Epiphone SG Modern Figured Trans Black Fade ist eine vielseitige, moderne SG mit starkem Sound und sehr angenehmer Haptik. Edel verarbeitet, top eingestellt und bereit für alles zwischen Clean, Crunch und Rock.
Diese wirklich edle SG ist in neuwertigem Zustand und – wie wir finden – eine sehr vielseitige Gitarre. Sie ist gut ausbalanciert und nicht ganz so kopflastig wie viele klassische SGs.
Die Verarbeitung ist auf hohem Niveau. Der wunderbar geshapte Hals orientiert sich am 60s-Style, ist aber kein klassischer Slim Taper. Er hat etwas mehr Substanz, bleibt aber deutlich schlanker als ein 50s-Profil – sehr angenehm und ausgewogen.
Der Hals wurde professionell satiniert und anschließend wieder poliert. Dadurch entsteht eine Haptik zwischen glänzend und seidenmatt – fühlt sich sehr angenehm und „schnell“ an.
Das Ebenholzgriffbrett sieht nicht nur gut aus, sondern fühlt sich auch entsprechend hochwertig an.
Das Fretwork war ab Werk okay, aber nicht perfekt – deshalb haben wir die Bünde abgerichtet und poliert und der Gitarre ein komplettes Setup gegönnt. Jetzt spielt sie sich sauber, direkt und sehr komfortabel.
Die Elektronik ist bei dieser SG besonders hervorzuheben:
Verbaut sind ProBucker-2 (Hals) und ProBucker-3 (Bridge) – klassischer Humbucker-Sound mit ordentlich Druck. Über Push/Pull lassen sich die Pickups splitten, zusätzlich gibt es eine Out-of-Phase-Schaltung für den Hals-Pickup. Das macht sie deutlich vielseitiger als eine klassische SG.
Abgerundet wird das Ganze durch Grover Locking Rotomatic Tuner (18:1) und hochwertige CTS-Potis.
