Description **
Here we have a classic USA Fender Stratocaster from 2011 – the American Special model with the CBS headstock.
The big headstock came into the picture back then because they wanted everyone on TV to instantly recognize what kind of board was being rocked on.
(My first Fender in the late ’70s had one too – so I’ve got no problem with it ;-)
Granted, most people prefer the smaller pre-CBS headstock, but this one is simply an honest, solid Strat with style.
It has good pickups and sounds really fine – classic Fender, nice and glassy.
The neck is more of a Modern C shape, with a very lightly satinized feel – very comfortable to play.
The guitar shows only minimal signs of use and was obviously not played much – it was probably mostly kept safely stored.
The previous owner (born in ’46) bought it in 2011 from “the big T” to fulfill a teenage dream. Now he found a nice semi-hollow with us that he can also play without an amp – and traded this Strat in for it.
