As a particularly elegant member of the famous Electromatic Collection, the Gretsch G5422TG Electromatic Classic Hollow Body Double-Cut Bigsby delivers exactly the sound, look, and vibe associated with the rocking Fifties and Sixties.
The classic hollowbody design with laminated maple and Trestle Bracing provides that typical archtop character while helping to reduce feedback. The two Gretsch FT-5E Filter'Tron pickups deliver the unmistakable Gretsch sound – clear and open, yet with plenty of punch. The pickups are controlled via separate volume controls, a master volume, and a master tone.
Visually, this one is something special: Cadillac Green with gold hardware – a very rare color combination that gives the guitar an especially elegant appearance. Together with the Bigsby B-60 and the classic Gretsch details, it is a real eye-catcher.
A beautiful lady with plenty of character and style.
The maple neck with its Classic C profile has, to us, a pleasant ’60s feel. It sits comfortably in the hand and the guitar is really enjoyable to play. At only approx. 3.14 kg, it is also surprisingly lightweight for a large hollowbody.
Tonally, Gretsch guitars are something special anyway – and with this one, everything simply fits. The Filter'Trons deliver that distinctive sound somewhere between clear, crisp, warm, and rock-oriented.
The factory fretwork was pleasingly good. It only received a complete setup.
It has barely been played and is in almost mint condition.
A beautiful Gretsch in an unusual color – elegant, lightweight, full of character, and definitely not something you see every day.
