Description **
This guitar was built by Kaman/Ovation under the Applause label – so it’s not just some no-name piece. Back then it was positioned in the mid-range segment, so definitely not an ultra-cheap plank.
The moment you pick it up, you immediately get that real vintage feeling.
The neck is a flat, typical ’60s style – the frets are fairly low, but not too narrow. It feels great in the hand, with a light satin finish.
The body is Torino Red with a relatively thin finish. The tremolo is set to sit flush on the body, and unfortunately the tremolo arm is missing.
The tuners are solid mid-range ones – they work well.
The original single coils are still in and deliver an authentic Strat sound.
The electronics are kept fairly simple – there’s room for improvement if you want. But we wanted to keep the guitar in original condition for now.
If you like, you can also get a second pickguard from us with higher-quality pickups and better electronics – the original will of course be kept.
Bottom line:
A guitar that’s fun, looks great, and is also quite rare because of its origin!
