Description **

A really beautiful Squier Stratocaster Made in Japan from the transition period of 1990/91 – a phase when truly top guitars were still being built in Japan.

It’s in very good condition, but it has been refinished. According to the stamp in the body, the original color was Candy Apple Red; the new finish sits somewhere between Fiesta Red and Dakota Red – really charming and a true eye-catcher! The refinish is done cleanly, but over the years it has picked up a few honest dings, dents, and fine finish cracks – nothing dramatic, just genuine patina.

The neck has the typical early-’90s Fender profile of the MIJ series: clear-coated, a flat C shape, great playability. The nut was replaced with a Graph Tech, the frets are freshly leveled and polished. On the rosewood fingerboard, a small spot was professionally repaired – it doesn’t affect playability.

The pots have already been upgraded to higher-quality ones. The pickups are now handwound Texas-Special specs (Alnico V) – in direct comparison they sound virtually identical to the real Fender Texas Specials we have here in-house. The result: proper Strat tone – clear, open, with exactly the right bite.

An honest MIJ Strat with character, soul, and sound – the kind you hardly find anymore today. Perfect for players and collectors who appreciate something special.
