Description **

A really lovely Stratocaster with soul – heavily played, honest player’s grade. Built in Korea in 1992, from a time when build quality there was genuinely strong. If you compare the neck to a Japanese model from the same era, you’ll hardly notice any difference – even the truss-rod insert and the profile are almost identical. Only the truss-rod nut is slightly different.

The body is a bit thinner (similar to the Affinity models), made from lightweight plywood, and it wears its battle scars in the finish with pride. That’s why it comes in at only 3.12 kg – super light for a Strat! The tuners run smoothly, and the 6-point tremolo is set up in the classic decked position.

Tonally, we seriously upgraded it: it got a set of hand-wound single coils to Texas Special spec with Alnico V magnets. In a direct comparison with a US Strat with original Texas Specials, you can honestly hear hardly any difference. Pots and switch are new as well.

The neck feels like a typical ’90s Fender: flat D profile, medium frets, nicely played in, with that slightly glossy finish that can get a bit sticky with sweaty hands – but that’s easy to fix if you want. We freshly leveled and polished the frets and dialed everything in perfectly.

Now it plays really smoothly, sounds the business, and has that typical tight, punchy Texas tone that’s just fun. An honest, lively Strat in a rare blue color – with character and charm.
