Description **
A really beautiful piece of late-’80s guitar history! A Vester MOD 700 in 335 style, with a stunning flamed maple top in a transparent Blackburst finish. As far as we can tell, the guitar is in original condition. Depending on the light, the burst shimmers in black, grey, and with a slight blue tint – truly classy. The back and the neck are finished in solid black.
Back then, the 700 – together with the Mod. 800 (with a quilted maple top and a transparent back) – was the flagship among Vester’s semi-hollow models. I still remember well when these guitars were new in the shops – they were clearly considered top-class 335 copies at the time. A real highlight: the humbuckers can be split via mini switches – a genuine feature for the late ’80s.
The neck is nicely slim and plays great. We freshly leveled and polished the frets and dialed everything in perfectly. It comes from the first owner, an ambitious musician who has since moved into a nursing home – that’s how it found its way to us.
It has been played, of course – but it’s in remarkably good condition, with beautiful natural patina and no major damage. A true vintage beauty that you rarely find this well cared for.
