Here we have a great and rare instrument for Anthrax fans and lovers of unusual guitars: the more affordable version of the significantly more expensive Washburn USA “Bloodspatter Murder Weapon.”
A really interesting lady with plenty of character and rarity value. It is not only visually unusual – it also feels, plays, and sounds like a considerably more expensive instrument. On top of that, it is in excellent condition with hardly any signs of use.
As part of the Scott Ian Signature series, it naturally features a number of special details. Most notable are the distinctive “Anthragram” fretboard inlays and the striking Murder Weapon finish with red bloodspatter elements and impressed marks.
The two Egnater humbuckers pack plenty of punch while still sounding surprisingly balanced. Add to that a Tune-o-matic bridge with string-through-body construction and quality Grover tuners, and you have a really solid, high-quality specification overall.
The factory fretwork, however, was really not good – it was all over the place (-; So we carefully leveled, recrowned, and polished the frets and then gave the guitar a complete setup.
It now plays beautifully. The very slim and relatively narrow C-shape neck feels excellent in the hand and makes the guitar comfortable and fast to play.
The guitar has barely been played and is in almost mint condition.
A special guitar – and definitely not only for Anthrax fans. This model was only produced from 2007 to 2010 and is therefore quite rare to find today.
