Here we have a Yamaha Pacifica in Black – quality with character.
I can’t quite describe it, but I’ve known Yamaha guitars since the late ’70s, and they’ve always been an absolute standout. Yes, they were always really good and superbly built. Their design was always distinctive and clearly set them apart from other brands.
But somehow they always lacked a bit of rock ’n’ roll – no drugs, more like cuddly sex than wild excess. Maybe you could compare it to a Japanese T. versus a blue-and-white B. … We all know which car is actually the better one.
When I compare entry-level guitars, I have to say it clearly: Yamaha is leading the pack here.
Now about this particular example:
We leveled the frets, set everything up properly, and the result is a really playable guitar that can accompany you for a long time on your musical journey.
Sound: The humbucker has plenty of push, but can also do clean.
The single coils do exactly what you’d expect from them.
Tremolo: Present and works as it should.
A few small scratches in the finish, but nothing serious.
