Phil Pro Strat from Korea

🎸 This Power Strat is a truly rare piece from Korea.There’s very little information available about the brand – we believe it dates back to the late 1990s. It’s very well built, with a body shape reminiscent of the Ibanez S-Series, and the neck is also inspired by Ibanez – super slim and 5-piece construction.

The Wilkinson tremolo has been blocked for upward motion (can easily be reactivated) and works very well in combination with the locking tuners.

The pickups sound clear and punchy – no cheap stock stuff here.

📚 General info on Phil Pro (as far as we know):

Phil Pro was a brand of the South Korean company Myung Sung Musical Company Limited, active in the 1990s and early 2000s, producing a wide range of instruments including electric guitars, acoustics, basses, and mandolins.

The Phil Pro series included offset double-cutaway bodies, bolt-on necks, and double-locking tremolo systems. Though the brand attempted to enter the U.S. market, it appears the guitars were never officially distributed there.

In Germany, however, Phil Pro instruments were available and appreciated by musicians.

Some models came with high-end components, such as Seymour Duncan pickups, and featured unique design elements – like abalone eagle inlays on the body.

Production was primarily in South Korea, with lower-priced models built in China.

Today, Phil Pro guitars are hard to find on the used market and are valued by players and collectors seeking affordable, high-quality hidden gems.
